Target Audience (Kano) - RESEARCH
These photos are taken from YouGov profiler, a website which creates an 'average' profile of a product's or artist's target audience. In this case, Kano, a grime act, was the subject. They live in London as a rule, and interestingly are males aged 25 to 39, and are part of the skilled working class. They work in jobs that involve a lot of money, and possibly as a result have up to 1000 pounds spare money to spend. Interestingly, they enjoy golf and cycling, generally sports more commonly associated with the upper classes. They download music illegally, use ASOS and Spotify, wear Adidas, and shop at Tesco. They like American based acts such as Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna, but also like UK Artists Tinie Tempah and Craig David. They read the sun, and spend up to 40 hours a week on social media, but only 5 watching TV for shows like Eastenders. As a result, the target audience for an act like Kano is very complex and will have to be taken into consideration when branding.
Note: This is based on a limited sample, and further audience research may have to be done to achieve a full picture of the target audience for this genre.
